After stressing for the whole summer about finding a reasonable apartment in NYC, and then spending over a month after that worrying about not finding an apartment we liked in Richmond, Shawn simply said, "Why not live here?" ..and it was such a silly question, that it had been overlooked. Although Lynchburg is not as fun, lively and bustling of a town as Richmond is, there is no reason we really absolutely to live there until I get accepted for the Fall at VCU. Lynchburg actually reminds me a lot of my hometown in New York (which I am always missing for some odd reason). Replace the partying college kids with praying college kids, the snooty rich parents with religious rich ones, and teens with cell phones glued to themselves with teenagers with baby bumps...you have Lynchburg!
Regardless of the people, we (quickly) found a nice two bedroom apartment in a complex within our budget which had the two things we needed--to allow dogs for Kahlo, and a extra bedroom for a craft room/office for me :)
Let me take you on a little tour.
To the left you will see our entrance/hallway. The main bathroom is on the left and the washer & dryer is on the right of the hall. On the right is our kitchen. Nothing fancy, this is a older complex, but I cant complain because it does has all of the room we need to do to cook & feed Kahlo!...It is one of the cleaner kitchens I have lived in, and it also has a dishwasher and garbage disposal which is always a plus :)
The living room is pretty standard for an apartment living room. Its a good size and has a breakfast bar that opens to the kitchen and double doors that lead to the balcony which is one of Kahlos favorite spots.
It was hard to get a good photo of the bedroom, but here it is! I dont have the measurments on me, but its also a good size with two oversized windows. The second bedroom is similar, just a few square feet smaller.
The Master bathroom is smaller than the main bathroom, but it is the master and the one we use most. Shawn uses this one when he gets ready and I use the other one. We did not intend to have or need two bathrooms, but it works out pretty well.

Lastly is one of the two walk in closets. This photo does not do it justice. Neither of us have ever had a walk in closet, in fact we have not really each had our own closet. We planned to each take one, but theres so much room that we both share this one & use the other one for coats, storage & seasonal clothes!

And that is pretty much it. A blank canvas!
Cant wait to see what we can do with our space.
